Eye Exam and Puppy Fever
Jon and I got our eyes examined today. I was pretty sure my prescription had changed, and I was right. Though, it had only changed slightly. Jon’s had actually changed the most, but in a good way. His stigmatism had cleared up, but he’s beginning to have that over-thirty-eyes. His phrase, not mine. So we all got new glasses. Since I’ve gotten to that point where reading and computer work has become progressively more difficult without glasses, I got two pairs, so I’d have a back-up. I was really tempted by this pair of green frames. I know, green, so not me. But they were just fun. I didn’t get them, because honestly I don’t own that much green, but there are a lot of colors to choose from this year. I have also been informed that purple is the in-color for autumn. Yeah, it was news to me, too. But hey, one year it was orange, at least there are shades of purple that I can wear, and actually look good in, I always hate when the in-color for any season is pastel. Pastels do not flatter me. Jon, on the other hand, can wear almost any color and shade and it manages to look good on him. His mother is the same way. Very frustrating to those of us who have a more limited color pallet that does not suck against our coloring.
I had puppy fever really badly today. Spare moments were spent browsing pet finder, but I resisted. With everything we have going on we’re waiting to add to our furry family until after the first of the year. I know a lot of people get holiday puppies, but it’s actually a bad time to bring them home, because of all the activity and chaos. Must be a grown-up and wait. Want puppy. Okay, want dog, actually, in fact, prefer an older dog. Potty training over, or easily gone through. They’re past the chewing stage, and they learn new routines and tricks just fine. Anyone else see the Mythbusters episode where they proved the old adage, "Can’t teach an old dog, new tricks," was false?
I hit the ground running at seven this morning and we left the eye-doctor at seven in the evening. Long day. So, good night everybody, early to bed for us.
