New Blog – See you at FairieCon East!

So many of you ask me to come visit your part of the world, that I’m going to try and do more conventions and make more appearances. I will be a guest at FairieCon East November 7 – 9, 2014 in Hunt Valley, Maryland. I will be doing at least a signing a day, and panels! They’re opening up the big room for my spotlight panel which is a one on one conversation rather than a straight interview. I’m not exactly sure what that means either, but we’ll find out together.

The more of you that show up for my events at FairieCon East, the more likely I am to do more conventions and events on the east coast. I’m responding to two things; first that FairieCon has been asking me to be a guest for a few years now, and second, that so many east coast fans have consistently requested that I come back to their neck of the woods. So here’s your chance to see me in person, have me sign something for you, and give me more incentives to travel and meet all of you.

  1. Many many years ago i got the wonderful opportunity to meet you and get a book signed. I would love to be there to do it again.

  2. obviously like your web-site however you have to check
the spelling on quite a few of your posts. Many of them are rife with spelling problems and I
in finding it very troublesome to tell the truth nevertheless I’ll certainly come again again.

  3. Please come to Wisconsin!! I can’t make it out east but I am a big fan would love to have you sign one of my Anita Books !! Or the Anita sweatshirt I just bought…

    1. Yes!!! Pensacola!! Please please!! We have a convention in February! Oh please! You have tons and tons of fans in this area!

  4. Please please please come to Armageddon in Auckland, New Zealand one year (maybe in the next couple). Please!

  5. That’s fantastic, Laurell!!! Thank you SO much for taking fan requests to heart…you ROCK!!!!! If you ever get to North Carolina I’d do everything in my power to be there & have a chance at meeting you, hearing you speak & possibly getting an autograph. Traveling out of state isn’t an option for me because I live with chronic, debilitating pain & fatigue, but I’d do my level best to be there if you schedule any appearances my home state. Your creativity gives me immeasurable, sorely-needed respite & I can’t begin to describe what that means to me! I’m about to re-visit Anita’s world & read the series for the 7th time in anticipation of your December release of ‘Jason’ 🙂 (I’ve read Merry’s series 5 times now.) Thank you, so very much, for sharing so much of yourself with your fans…we love you for it <3

  6. I’m so very excited 2 hear ur finally coming 2 Maryland! I hope & pray I finally get 2 meet & greet u! I have all it books & I’m ur biggest fan! Th so much 2 come out 2 the East coast & visit ur FANS! <3

  7. More incentive? Shouldn’t wanting to meet you fans, and handshake, and spread the word of your book be incentive? Do people have to beg and wait for you on bended knee as incentive?

    1. Wow-go read a different author-you know NOTHING about LKH-you just won’t get it-haters never do. LKH’s writing helps you to evolve to a higher plane of love and acceptance-no matter how that love appears. She is just one person (no matter how shocking that is to us!) and she has to make choices. That means travel gets harder as her family commitments increase-so YES incentive works to justify the travel. I pray you find love before you shrivel up from your own sourness. Not trying to be cruel but so surprised by your comment since you obviously read her enough to follow her blog. Peace and blessings to all-even you!

  8. Though I don’t live far, I won’t be able to go 🙁 However, I’ve always wondered… Since you’ve said the last book isn’t the last Merry novel, I was wondering about a characher I’ve been hoping we’d get to know more. It seems like Merry has a pretty big bond with Faerie itself. Maeve Reed’s house had their heart of Faerie under it (and it might have some bad memories for Merry because Taranis abducted her from there, but I can’t see Merry just letting someone ruin such a huge gift like that for her.) And Rhys has his own sithen that we haven’t gotten to see much of yet. Do you think we might get to know the Los Angeles parts of Faerie a little better in the future? And maybe even the slaugh sithen too. I’d like to think that now that Merry really does have her own court now, complete with dogs, goblins, and demi fae, and adorable babies, that one day Merry and her family/court, will be able to make their own (safe) home.

  9. I’d love the change to do a meet and greet with you, but I honestly don’t think you should come here. We’re not a real city, and we’re not safe, so don’t, please. I’m happy just to be able to read your books as they come 🙂

  10. Yes, they do. You’ve hit the nail on the head. It’s intriguing how “incentive” is required to come out to meet fans, sell books and remain relevant yet can still travel all across the nation almost at the drop of a hat to “spend time with friends”. Also interesting is the many trips to NYC for any number of reasons yet can never manage to attend BookExpoAmerica- the single largest publishing event in North America, which also tends to coincide with the release dates of her novels. Penguin always has a display poster for all their authors, including her, but she never attends. Literally a captive audience ready to go and she’s nowhere to be found.

    1. Life happens-too bad she can’t just drop everything for you. Bitter much? Sounds like you have an axe to grind. Good thing both Anita and Merry know how to use one. But of course that is fantasy-isn’t it?

      1. Yes… such a shame an author can’t be bothered to actually promote her book at the biggest book show of the year in the biggest city in the world, let alone in any other major cities. What could I be thinking?

  11. Laurell
First…yes please come to more east coast events. I had kinda hoped you would be at comic con NYC.

As an aside I wanted to tell you that I finish my book and it was largely in part to you being my “soundtrack.” Though I know you probably will never see it I gave you a thank you in the acknowledgements. 🙂 so thank you again for Anita!

  12. Come to Orlando!!! Or anywhere in North Florida or Atlanta-I will drive to see you! ;}

  13. Man, wish I lived in the vicinity! Unfortunately I do not! No way possible to travel to the event for this backwoods hick! Lol anywho I’m in Southwest, Virginia. Would be an absolute honor & dream come true if ever you made your way to my neck of the woods! Although, I don’t think anyone makes their way this far out in mountains unless they just cannot help it! Beautiful place though!
Although you may find our accents a little hard to understand. I think you’d love it here, and I’m pretty sure you have many more fans here as well. No way I’m the only one! Not possible.
love The Anita Blake Series and all the hot lumps of sexiness she surrounds herself with and am SOOO looking forward to the next great one! Have a good one Laurell, you are my fav Author of all time! XoXo much love darlin, Tabatha

  14. I have never even heard of faericon till I read your blog and found out you would be there. I am ecstatic. I’ve purchased my tickets and I cant wait to meet you!

  15. What time will you be doing a signing on Sunday at the FaerieCon? I’m coming mostly to meet and get one of my books signed by you, so I’d like to make sure I’m there when you’re signing 🙂
    Thanks!
